Review: A Throne of Blood and Vengeance by Alex Frost

Synopsis:

Review:

After the events of the second book, the story feels more urgent. The stakes are higher, and the group needs to find a solution to their problem quickly (= finding out how to save everyone and take over).
Before facing this big challenge, there is a short moment of rest – or rather, hot, hotter, and wow. Usually, I am not the biggest fan of these kinds of scenes, but this series made me appreciate them when they are done well. I felt fully engaged while reading, so I was more than happy with how it was handled.

For the rest of the book, the focus is mainly on Samara and the people who are loyal to her (and love her so much). Together, they try to find others who support their mission. They also learn more about their past and how everything is connected, while dealing with challenges and working on a plan to defeat the villain.
On paper, this might sound like a story I have seen before. However, I cannot remember the last time I had this much fun reading a book. It is not perfect and some things felt a bit over the top, but it gave me a strong connection to the characters and quite a few moments that made me blush.
Overall, I would say it is very well done.
