Synopsis:

Nothing can be trusted in Lunaria.

The gorgeous and charming Prince Draven wants to court me. There’s just one catch – he’s the enemy. Further complicating matters, I’m already entangled with two others, and harboring confusing feelings for a third. Marriage is the last thing on my mind, especially with a traitor. But between the increasing boldness of the monsters roaming our lands and the obscured truths nestled in our history, I don’t have much of a choice. Desperate for answers, and with the Prince holding the key, it’s time for game of deception to begin.

Seduce the Prince, learn his secrets, don’t let him learn mine. And most importantly, don’t die.

Our survival depends on unraveling the lies around us and the clock is ticking. With every bit of knowledge we gain, it becomes harder to tell friend from foe. And if I trust the wrong person, I might doom us all.

Review:

This was a very entertaining read. I’m glad the book kept the same charm as the first one. A big part of that comes from how everyone connects with the main character, Samara. I really have to give her credit. She has strong opinions and is not afraid to speak her mind. She clearly says what she wants, including when it comes to her relationships with the men around her, and it seems to work well for everyone involved. Good for them 🙂

The main story continues to move forward as the characters try to figure out what happened, who they can trust, and who might be betraying them. I liked that the story balances its darker tone with lighter moments. It never feels too heavy, because there are always small breaks that give you time to breathe.
Overall, I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. It kept me very entertained, and there were a few moments that even made me blush a little. Samara is a character I really admire, and I fully support her choices. She doesn’t take no for an answer, and it’s easy to see why others are drawn to her.
That ending, though – it was a real cliffhanger. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book.
