📚 Waking up hundreds of years into the future in a 📚 Waking up hundreds of years into the future in a different body was not on the menu. How will she get back?🌙 Recension: The Soul Tetherer (Sword of Hadrian #2) by Chloelia Salome📚 Genre: Romantasy📅 Release Date: March 11, 2026📗 available in various formats - included in Kindle Unlimited📱 Read as: Kindle💸 I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.🗣️ Language: English📆 Pages: 355⭐️ 4/5Review:While I enjoyed the first instalment of the series, it didn't fully convince me. The writing style didn't fully resonate with me, and I also didn't fully connect with all the characters. It left me curious enough to want to know how the story continued. Having finished the second book now, I enjoyed it so much more. The beginning gave us an overview of where we are today, while also providing some background about the events leading up to this point. It ended with an interesting twist that had me eager to learn what it meant. And this is when the story really begins, with Sashki waking up in a stranger's body hundreds of years in the future. What an interesting plot twist. Not only is she alone, but she must find out what happened, how to return to her own timeline, and play along while she searches for a solution. When she runs into Claude, he promises to help her while asking for something in return. The amount of time they spend together adds a lot of tension between the two of them.I enjoyed the aspect of Sashki having to adapt to different circumstances and learning that, while a lot has changed in more modern times, some things remain the same, especially the role of women in society. Her attempts to appreciate certain aspects while hating others came across very well to me. Her chemistry with Claude was convincing, and there were moments when I wanted her to stay in the future. What I appreciated was that the aspect of her taking over someone else's body, and what that would mean once she leaves, wasn't simply glossed over. Even a simple acknowledgement of the issue was absolutely fine for me. I enjoyed coming along for the ride and am looking forward to the next one.
📚 Some parents can feel a bit overprotective. When 📚 Some parents can feel a bit overprotective. When does it become unhealthy?🌙 Recension: Smother (Smother Series #1) by Daya Winters📚 Genre: Thriller📅 Release Date: April 21, 2026📗 available in various formats – included in Kindle Unlimited📱 Read as: Kindle💸 Bought📆 Pages: 344⭐️ 4/5Review:This one turned out to be a pleasant surprise and not what I expected. I was hoping for it to be good based on the synopsis. The beginning already sets the stage for what to expect: a mother thinking about killing her baby. That is a very disturbing way to signal that something equally disturbing is coming my way. After that, we jump to Hannah meeting Ethan. Did their relationship evolve rather quickly? Yes. But who am I to judge? Meeting his mother was something very different from what you would usually expect. Did she come across as a bit overprotective and overly eager to get involved in the daily lives of the newly-weds? Absolutely. Did she give off a vibe that screamed run as fast as you can to me? Yeah. And this is when everything slowly started to feel very weird, and bit by bit it became clear that something disturbing was going on. That part came across so well. The progression from she might be a bit much but means well to this is unhealthy and not ok happened gradually, and I was unable to put the book down. The ending brought a twist I did not see coming, and I wasn’t completely on board with. Overall, though, it was a very good read, and I enjoyed it a lot.
📚 What if multiple deaths seem to be connected? 🌙 📚 What if multiple deaths seem to be connected?🌙 Recension: Lethal Design (KC & Orlando Prime series #2) by S.F. Baumgartner📚 Genre: Mystery, Crime, Thriller📅 Release Date: August 4, 2026📗 available in various formats – included in Kindle Unlimited📱 Read as: Kindle💸 I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.📆 Pages: 392⭐️ 3/5Review:The previous instalment wasn’t able to fully convince me, so I had high hopes for this one. After finishing the second book in the series, I’m sad to say that it probably isn’t for me.I can appreciate high stakes and complex crimes, but this one didn’t interest me enough to keep me fully engaged. There was a lot going on, with many agencies involved, and I personally would have appreciated it if everything had been streamlined a bit more.I also noticed that, aside from the story about Frank’s history, I didn’t really connect with any of the characters. On top of that, the relationship between the main characters I met in the first book didn’t make sense to me. Why mention it in only a few sentences without explaining how the relationship began in the first place? It felt like something was missing.I’m sad to say that this series is probably not for me, and I won’t be continuing with it. That doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it, and that’s perfectly okay.
📚 A world where the main objective for woman is to 📚 A world where the main objective for woman is to be chosen by a man. Sounds disturbing and interesting.🌙 Recension: Rite of Unity by Caz Andra📚 Genre: Dystopia📅 Release Date: August 6, 2026📖 Publisher: ‎‎ Mojo House Press📗 available in various formats – included in Kindle Unlimited📱 Read as: Kindle💸 I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.📆 Pages: 383⭐️ 3/5Review:Give me a dystopian book that sounds remotely interesting, and I’ll give it a try. This one, though, didn’t fully live up to my expectations. The story itself sounded very promising. A woman’s main objective is to be married by the age of 28. Everything they do in life is preparation for it. If you grow up in one of the higher classes, your chances of succeeding are significantly better. If you grow up poor, those chances are practically non-existent. In a world where fewer and fewer males are being born, not bearing one reduces your worth, even if you are in a relationship. Finding love and being in a happy relationship is no longer a priority in the world they live in. But not everybody agrees with what is happening, especially the protagonist. This premise gave me serious The Handmaid’s Tale vibes, and I was here for it. Women being reduced to vessels whose sole purpose is to give birth to sons, and being treated like cattle, came across as genuinely disturbing and was the part of the story I enjoyed the most. But then we also got The Bachelor vibes, where twelve different women had to compete for one man, and that part of the story fell flat for me. Or maybe I’m just not a fan of that kind of storyline in general.Did I enjoy this book? Yes. But my interest faded as the story unfolded, and I just wasn’t as invested the further I got into it. It had a lot of potential, but it didn’t fully deliver for me.
