Freya has the kind of life that most people would kill for – more money than she knows what to do with and the freedom to spend her days as she chooses. But I don’t think she deserves any of it.

I’ve spent months watching Freya as I clean her huge house and obey her every demand. She thought I was just her cleaner, but she underestimated me. I know her darkest secret – and I’m going to use it to get everything I want.

So while she was unconscious, I stole her name. She has no idea what I’m capable of. Or what I’m going to do next…

Review:

I had read a few books by this author before and was glad to enjoy this one as well.
We start with Freya waking up in a hospital and being called a name that isn’t hers. Iris is in the room with her, and she, too, is going by a different name – although in her case, it seems to be by choice.
What initially sounds like a simple misunderstanding quickly becomes far more interesting and appears to involve someone taking over another person’s identity. The only problem is that Iris doesn’t seem to know what she has bargained for by becoming Freya. Or does she?
The premise might not sound entirely original, but the way the story slowly unfolded, along with the subtle hints scattered throughout, had me eager to discover what was really happening. Just when I thought I had figured it out, I was thrown a curveball, followed by one twist after another.
While it didn’t feel completely fresh or surprising overall, I found the book highly entertaining and enjoyed the ride from beginning to end. It was fast-paced, and I flew through it. It gave me exactly what I wanted from it.
