Review:

On paper, the story can be broken down rather simply: she meets him at a party, they spend a night together, and then surprisingly run into each other again weeks later. They’re still interested in one another, but because of a rocky start and a reluctance to give in to their attraction, they pretend they’re not interested. The execution, though, was something I enjoyed a lot.
Chloe and Sawyer are both recovering from their previous relationships and trying to get back on their feet. A fresh start and focusing on making their businesses successful are their main goals. A relationship simply doesn’t fit into those plans. When they find out they work together, however, it becomes impossible to avoid constantly being reminded of each other.

This was such a cute and lovely romance story. I’m more of a cat person, but I could still appreciate the dogs, who had a very relevant arc in the overall story. They fit in perfectly and were the glue holding everything together from time to time. Did I love everything about that – no, but I didn’t mind it either.
The banter between Chloe and Sawyer was great, and watching them constantly avoid the obvious while convincing themselves, and each other, that they weren’t interested was entertaining. Meanwhile, they clearly cared deeply for one another and always showed up when it counted. It was so obvious where things were heading that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I’m usually not someone who enjoys the spicy parts of a book (and we got a healthy amount of them here), but the audiobook’s duet narration actually made me enjoy those scenes. Props to the narrators for doing such a great job that I had a lot of fun following along with Chloe and Sawyer’s story.
