Review:

Am I the biggest fan of Christmas romance books? No, but I am absolutely willing to give them a chance, especially when they are part of a series (though they can be read as stand-alone) and come from an author whose previous work I really enjoyed. I was willing to embrace it, and I was in for a treat with this one.

Returning to the small town felt like coming home and embracing a family that loves each other dearly and isn’t afraid to hold one another accountable. But they will also show up in the middle of the night if required and won’t hold back from sharing your latest mishap with everyone.
The book comes with a large cast of characters, and while I appreciate the detailed page explaining who everyone is, you won’t need to know them all. I already appreciated this in the previous book and was reminded how easily I was introduced to everyone again, bit by bit, without it ever feeling overwhelming. If you’re a new reader, you’ll catch up very quickly.

The beginning of the book made it clear early on what to expect. Ed coming home after being away for months without telling anyone about it was such a typical thing for him to do. Frankie waking up in the middle of the night to find a stranger breaking into her place was definitely a frightening situation, and she handled it much better than I would have.

While they didn’t have the best start to their first meeting, these two were so lovely together. Frankie had some bad experiences in the past and was looking to be left alone while she was in town, so getting unwanted attention was definitely not on the menu. Once Halfmoon Quay decides to like you, you’ll fall in love with it too, and I was absolutely here for it 🙂
This was another win for me. It left me feeling as though I’d received a warm hug and reminded me why I fell in love with this author’s writing in the first place.
