This is the third book in the The Immortal Orders series.
Synopsis:
It all ends in Nuva Troi.
Harlow Krane and Finn McKay have been through a lot. They never expected to have the chance to be together again, let alone the myriad ways they might be torn apart. To save everything they hold dear, they’ll have to trust each other—and themselves—more than either thought possible.
With the threat of war on the horizon, Awaken the Fifth Order is a battle against overwhelming odds. Can Harlow and Finn reunite in time to save their relationship and Okairos?

Review:
I went into this expecting an epic, action-packed finale – orders clashing, heavy losses, and people uniting around a shared goal. Did I get that? In a way, yes, but not quite how I anticipated.
Instead, the story leaned much more heavily into politics, with different factions trying to outmaneuver one another, forming uneasy alliances, and learning each other’s strengths and weaknesses. The focus shifted toward resisting suppression, refusing to let the oppressors maintain control, and humanity being caught in the middle, fighting for survival and a fair chance at the future.
The pacing felt uneven at times, and as I got closer to the end, I kept waiting for it to pick up again. I especially missed some of the elements from the first book-especially the characters coming together. Here, they felt more divided, and the banter and interactions between them were what drew me to the series in the first place.
Overall, it was a fitting conclusion to the series, and I appreciated that the physical relationship between the two main characters played a much smaller role this time. An enjoyable read, though it left me wishing for just a little more.
