Don’t get me wrong. I love looking at my bookshelves and all the books that I still want to read. There are also the days where is feels overwhelming. It spontaneously hits (I might have also watched a few un-haul videos the day before 😉 ) me and I’ll look at every shelf, every cupboard and star at it for a bit and start grabbing various books and un-haul them.
My long list of started series is also not getting shorter, so I am starting to DNF quite a few of them and want to focus on finishing the ones that I started or have pending to start. It has reached s state where I have paused starting new series before finishing others. Along they way I’m also becoming more and more organized and constantly re-arrange my books.

A few days ago, I had one of these mornings where it hit me and 1h later, I sold a few of the books and everything else I brought to one of the public libraries closest to me.
The sad thing is, that some of these books were on my shelf for years, waiting to be read. Others were recent additions. And let’s also not think about the money I spend on all of them 🙁
Things I want to become better at:
- buy a lot less books
- do regular un-hauls
- be harsh about which books will get a place of my shelves once read
- try to sell the books (to get credit for books I’m interested in or might miss in a series I enjoy continuing) / bring the books to the public library
- be critical about starting new series (especially in physical form)
- develop a *plan* on reducing the list of open series
- try to read more standalones

And one very important note to myself:
Don’t bring new books home just because they were for free!
Is it just me or do you also have these moments, where it get’s just a bit too much? Or are you way more efficient on what comes in and what goes out? I’m interested in your strategies.
