Review:

This book starts by taking us back a few days compared to where the previous one ended. Some storylines are already familiar, but the important difference is that we get more context and background on the initial interactions between Cassiopé and Léandre, and how quickly they felt a connection to each other. Did it happen relatively quickly? Yes, but they didn’t know how much time they would have together, so why waste any of it?

These two were cute together, and I had a feeling that the story was giving me false hope about the outcome. When the most dreaded part finally happened, I was heartbroken. The way both of them behaved afterward was painful to watch, but it also made complete sense given the uniqueness of the situation. Cassiopé, especially, feeling as though her heart had been ripped out was hard to see, and I completely understood her desire to keep her distance from him.

This was a story about overcoming a terrible situation and not giving up, even when it hurts so much. It is about trusting that you can find your way back to each other and believing that a strong connection will not simply disappear. And in between all of that, the book made both of them suffer while I cheered them on every step of the way 🙂
