Review:

After finally being together in the way they deserved, only to be separated again, the ending of the previous book was intense, and I was eager to return to the world and find out what would happen next. What both of them had to endure was heartbreaking, especially for Zylah, who never gave up and believed with every fibre of her being that Holt was still alive, even if not everyone was convinced at first.
Learning what was happening to Holt was traumatic, and I was looking forward to the moment when they would finally be reunited.
These two are a couple worth rooting for. They are always there for each other, and their connection was the highlight of the book for me. The growth of Zylah especially stood out. Watching her accept the situation and adapt to the circumstances was something I had been looking forward to since the beginning. Seeing her finally become the strong person she truly is and learn to trust herself was incredibly satisfying.

Overall, this is a story about coming together, trusting one another, standing up to a common enemy, and learning who is truly on your side and who will betray you. Did it need to be this long? Maybe not. The pacing felt slightly off at times, but overall, it was a fitting ending to the story.
