This Review is for the second book in the The Immortal Fae King series. If you haven’t read the first one, you should start there:
#1 – Queen of Sorrows
Synopsis:
She poisoned him with a kiss and doomed them all.
Deirdre thought she was gaining her freedom by trusting Kane’s cousin, Gideon. But fae should never be trusted and she learned that lesson too late.
Now, trapped with a group of well-meaning gnomes, Deirdre holds the most powerful gem in the kingdom, one that can strip the fae king of his immortality forever. It’s something she thought she wanted, until goblins raided the woods and she found herself wishing for the very fae king she betrayed to come to her rescue.
But Kane is fighting for his own survival.
While Deirdre fled with his cousin, the Lich King’s minions attacked Kane’s castle, and now he’s trapped purging twisted creatures from his land. He has no time to search for his treacherous wife, but if he doesn’t find her soon, the gem she carries will fall into the wrong hands.
The only way to track Deirdre is through a dangerous and forbidden practice: dreamwalking. It’s a risk that could awaken the dragon sickness that killed his father, but Kane has no choice.
With time running out, finding his queen is the key to saving himself and his kingdom. Finding Deirdre means saving himself, and he needs to do it quickly before whoever is leading the horde of goblins discovers they have the Queen of the Fae hiding in their midst.

Review:
The joy ride continuous with this one.
We have Deidre hiding away in a small village, knowing that her decisions will have consequences. For now, she wants to allow herself a bit of rest and hiding away with a lovely group of gnomes. Everyday mundane tasks are exactly what she needs right now.
Her husband meanwhile is looking for her and Gideon. Only the people closest to him know about the act of treason. He doesn’t know what exactly happens but remembers bits and ppieces and while still being angry with his queen, his mind shifts a bit along the way.
When Deidre is captured and the need for both of our characters to get re-united, the pace began picking up and I was rooting for them. Knowing, that it won’t be an easy ride for both. At this stage, I was so on board for the couple to finally come together to fight a common enemy, that is a lot stronger than originally anticipated and was preparing in hiding for a long time.
I am looking forward for the next book in the series. I enjoyed this one equally as much as the first one and if you are looking for a fantasy series, that grabs your attention and an enemy to lover story, that is believable, then this one is for you.
