Review:

Megan needs an out of her current situation. She is trapped in an unhappy relationship and when offered a chance to get away from him, she goes for it, not expecting what is waiting for her on the other side. It feels more like her running from one situation to another to me and when this became more and more clear, I felt for her.
Her new beginning started out very promising. It felt like it could have been a mix of a bit sci-fi, a survival show and on top a sprinkle of a reality show. And interesting mix that had me eager to know how the story would unfold, mainly asking the topic of what if. It quickly turned out to be more about an AI taking over control by using a form of mind-control. And if you didn’t comply, you were forced to.

I had high hopes when I started reading the book. It felt fast paced and drew me in immediately. Sadly, when we got to the 50% mark I felt a bit lost and what the overall purpose here was. Some things simply didn’t make sense to me and I felt disconnected from what enfolded on the pages.
Overall it was not a bad read, but it could have been so much more for me.
