Synopsis:

Review:

Millie has just gotten out of prison after serving many years for a murder she didn’t commit. But she knows exactly who did it, and when she goes to confront her sister, she doesn’t get the reaction she was hoping for. How dare her twin take everything away from her without even a thank you? I would be very disappointed and angry too.
So, she makes a spur-of-the-moment decision to make her pay for what she did. What Millie doesn’t know is that Eve’s life is far from perfect and comes with a lot of unwanted baggage. When she learns about that, she has to adapt and decide how she wants to deal with the situation.

The beginning was so weirdly entertaining that I was hoping this direct approach to the solution would be maintained throughout the book. Millie’s problem-solving skills were something I enjoyed far more than I probably should have. Once she understood what she had signed up for and accepted her fate, I was along for the ride. I didn’t have to guess what would happen. Did that make it a bit predictable? Yes, but sometimes that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
The ending wasn’t what I had hoped for, but it fit the narrative, so I can accept it and be fine with it.
I was looking for something easy to follow, entertaining, and with an ending that left me satisfied. This one ticked all those boxes for me.

I had an idea of where the story would go from the beginning, and it went there, with a few unexpected twists along the way. However, those only added to the enjoyment for me. If you want a thriller that tells you early on what kind of story it’s going to be and then delivers on that promise, this will be perfect for you.
