Synopsis:

Review:
I recently found out that there are so many thriller series out there waiting for me to pick them up that I am looking forward to my future reading endeavours 🙂 This one came up a lot and was very high on my list. I finally got to it, and what a joy ride it was.
Delta lives by himself in Alaska. He prefers it that way. It became clear to me very quickly that he is no ordinary person. He is the person you call when things go wrong, when other solutions will not work anymore, or when the official way of dealing with situations are not suited to handle a particular type of problem. That premise had me so excited, and I was not disappointed.
The premise of countries going to war with each other is more prominent than ever and sounded way too real for my liking. If you are the type of person who knows that “taking care” of a problem is not something that would happen in the real world, but works amazingly well on screen and on the pages of a book, you’ll enjoy the start of this series as much as I did. The constant back and forth, the stakes increasing page by page, and having a timeline until disaster strikes all worked for me. That is my type of fun 🙂
And Delta is a man for the job. He is prepared for everything and does not take no for an answer. When he needs things and support on a tight deadline, he’ll get his wish list delivered. He is ruthless, efficient, and gets things done. And I was here for it.
The one piece missing for me that would have made it perfect was a stronger emotional connection. He came off as a bit too much of a soldier for me. While I appreciated his approach and skills, I wanted a human being who might have doubts, just a little bit here and there. Someone who is impacted by certain decisions. Otherwise, I’m hooked and definitely look forward to continuing the series.
