Synopsis:

Review:

Waking up with no memories and not knowing how you got there or where you are is not a particularly pleasant way to start your day. This is exactly what happens to Diana, and the uncertainty surrounding her situation, along with her desire to find the missing pieces of herself, came across very well.

She remembers some things, but not the important parts, the ones that make you feel complete. After an attack, she is forced to flee, and this is when we get our first glimpse of the outside world. Something has happened that has turned it into a post-apocalyptic landscape, forcing humanity to adapt.
In her search, Diana meets a group of people, including Captain Lance Kang, to whom she feels strangely drawn without really understanding why.
Diana quickly learns that she is not only a scientist, but that she also seems to have played an important role in what happened and may be a key element in stopping what is happening, if only she could remember.

I enjoyed the story, and it left me eager to find out what had happened. Diana’s constant struggle to understand who she is and why she remembers certain things but not others was compelling. Her connection with Kang and the way the two of them slowly built a relationship was one of the highlights for me.
Could the story have been a bit shorter for my liking? Yes. While I appreciate taking the time to tell a story properly, some parts felt a little slow and dragged on without much happening. In contrast, the ending felt somewhat rushed and left me wanting more.
Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, especially since I had the chance to experience it as an audiobook. The narration was done very well.
