Review:

If you like your fantasy books with a strong focus on character building, taking their time to tell a story, and a lot of yearning, this might be the perfect book for you.

I felt immediately connected to the characters, who couldn’t be more different, yet felt a connection from their very first interaction.
Auryn felt so special to me, and every time she interacted with one of our main characters, it felt like she could look into their soul. She was able to instantly connect with everyone – she felt their pain and the challenges they had to endure, and it didn’t take many words for this to come across. These moments felt so rare and special, like a hug. It was as if Auryn only needed to look at someone to know exactly the right words to say, taking down every wall immediately. She gave everything she had without expecting anything in return.
When Kailorien met her, all he wanted to do was protect her. The way she made him feel, and how their relationship slowly built into something special, was beautiful to see.
From page one, it becomes clear that this is not your typical storytelling. The writing drew me in early on and felt different. It took me a bit to get into it, but once I did, I enjoyed it for what it is.
Will it be 100% my personal preference? No, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the story.
