Synopsis:
Some people will do anything for family. Even kill for it…
When Sophia, a wealthy woman far from home, meets Rebecca, a struggling nurse and mother, at a paint-and-sip class in New York, their friendship unfolds just as you might expect.
The lonely outsider finds her place. The overwhelmed mother gets the help she desperately needs. The two women save each other.
But that’s only the beginning.
The first time Sophia reads Rebecca’s journal, it’s curiosity. The next time, it’s desperation.
Because she’s realized she’s not the only one in this house with secrets…

Review:
That was quite a wild ride 🙂 The story throws constant curveballs, keeping me guessing about who was responsible for what, and it made me question everything I thought I knew along the way. I genuinely enjoyed being kept on my toes.
We meet Sophia, a woman with more money than she could ever need, who has grown used to getting what – and who – she wants. Her past is far from innocent, and at this point in her life she’s searching for something specific: a new friend. Someone who can fill the emptiness she feels and give her a sense of belonging.
When she meets Rebecca, it seems like she’s found exactly that. What starts out feeling fairly harmless soon shifts into something more unsettling, as Sophia’s need for control turns into an obsession with shaping Rebecca into the person she wants her to be. But Rebecca comes with her own baggage and proves to be far more complex than Sophia expected. From there, the story takes one sharp turn after another, and I was fully along for the ride.
Trust no one, and be prepared to change your opinion every few pages. That’s what this book delivers. Was it over the top at times? Absolutely. But if you accept it for what it is, you won’t want to put it down.
