Synopsis:
Bound by shadows. Bound by longing. Bound by the raven’s relentless call.
Mal Devlin is haunted by the ghost of a love he couldn’t save. Each breath is a debt to the darkness clinging to his soul. Desperate to defy fate, he turns to forbidden rituals and shadowed bargains, descending into a world of ancient curses and vengeful spirits.
Ari lingers in Mal’s dreams—a spectral beacon, her memory both agony and salvation. Drawn by the raven’s cryptic warnings, Mal must confront the bond that ties them beyond the grave. But as dark forces close in, he teeters on the edge of eternal night and may fall completely unless he can unlock the truth of their undying love.
Every choice demands a sacrifice, and the raven watches with ancient intent, its gaze a harbinger of doom. As Mal clings to Ari’s fading light, Isabella risks everything to keep him alive. If she fails, both love and light will be devoured.
A gothic tale of obsession, sacrifice, and the kind of love that never dies—perfect for fans of M. Night Shyamalan and Edgar Allen Poe’s Annabel Lee and the Raven.
Step into the shadows, if you dare. But heed the raven’s cry, for it is eternal…and it will not be denied.

Review:
This is the kind of storytelling that sets the tone right from the start. The heartbreak, the guilt, and the desperate need to hold on to even the smallest shred of hope all felt deeply real and emotionally grounded.
Losing the person you love leaves a lasting mark. The sense of self-blame and the urge to cling to any remaining connection quickly take over, becoming the driving force. The loss itself is devastating, and the search for his lover becomes the story’s central focus. The way he pushes forward, ignoring the very real dangers that come with it, is portrayed well and with emotional weight.
As the story unfolds and a deeper connection, and a layered family history comes to light, the stakes rise. This added context intensifies both the danger and the urgency, giving the story a stronger emotional pull.
The final third felt a little drawn out to me and could have benefited from being slightly shortened. Even so, this remains a very emotional and impactful story overall.
