The first book in the Giftes series by @author.mav The first book in the Giftes series by @author.mavi had me fall in love with the main protagonists. Their connection built slowly, and I was here for it. I wanted to have it on my shelfes and it's finally available in paperback. I had to get it, obviously 😁#supportindieauthors
📚Reading a book by an author who is no longer aliv 📚Reading a book by an author who is no longer alive is a very different experience from my usual reads.🌙 Recension: Posthumously Yours by Charles D. Braun📚 Genre: Fiction📅 Release Date: March 25, 2026📖 Publisher: Type Eighteen Books📱 Read as: Kindle📗 available in various formats💸 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.🗣️ Language: English📆 Pages: 246⭐️ 3/5Review:We can never truly know which parts were influenced by real events and which belong entirely to fiction. It isn’t a documentary but rather a manuscript the author wished to have published after his passing. The story begins with an ending- a death – which immediately sets the tone, and given the subject matter, it comes as no surprise. What follows is an exploration of Charlie’s life. At first glance, he seems well integrated: he cares for his mother, interacts with people regularly, and appears to lead a fairly ordinary life. But once you look beneath the surface, you meet a lonely man who missed out on many of life’s experiences, someone who never quite understood his place in the world. He has no true friends and has always been seen as an outsider. When his mother dies, he is left completely alone, and the fragile purpose that held his life together disappears. The premise itself is compelling. Today, we talk more openly about seeking help, but that doesn’t mean it feels accessible to everyone. Often the signs are subtle or easily overlooked. The book raises important questions about the impact of therapy, helplines, and the role of money in these systems, and about the ways society falls short. Some of the pacing and structure could have benefited from more clarity or framework, but who am I to judge the author’s choices? What matters is that the story feels important. It highlights the good moments while allowing the painful ones to surface, and it does so with a quiet honesty that lingers after the final page.

It becomes clear right away that this is a story built on uncertainty. One that invites you to question everything and everyone. That sense of not knowing whom to trust is exactly the kind of beginning I love. From there, the story moves quickly as we meet the main characters. We have an unhappy wife who, after years of marriage, is frustrated by the lack of physical connection with her husband. When she rescues an elderly woman from a mugging and meets the woman’s son, the instant attraction signals that change is coming, and that those changes will have consequences for everyone involved. What starts as a simple act of betrayal gradually becomes something far more complicated. The possessive nature of the MMC intensifies as the story progresses, and the growing sense that this won’t end well gives the book a fast-paced, addictive quality. I ended up reading it in a single sitting. While the themes aren’t entirely new to the genre, the execution kept me engaged from start to finish. If you enjoy thrillers that blend tension, obsession, and emotional fallout, this one will be right up your alley.
Finally getting around to reading this one. Thanks Finally getting around to reading this one. Thanks @hambright_pr#arcreader#lucyscoreauthor#currentreads
