📚 Cozy Crime klang erst mal spannend...
📚 Do you like your Historical Fiction with a heavy 📚 Do you like your Historical Fiction with a heavy dose of real life events? 🌙 Recension: Lady of the Castle (Nicola de la Haye #2) by Rachel Elwiss Joyce📚 Genre: Historical Fiction📅 Release Date: September 21, 2026📖 Publisher: Hedgehog Books📱 Read as: Kindle📗 available in various formats – included in Kindle Unlimited💸 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.🗣️ Language: English📆 Pages: 598⭐️ 5/5Review:f you were to ask me to read a historical book, chances are I would kindly nod and never (or at least highly unlikely) follow through with it. However, if you give it to me as historical fiction and tell me it is based on real events, that most of what is written on the pages is accurate, and that some details have been added to make it a bit more interesting or to fit the narrative, I would jump on board immediately. This is what I enjoyed so much about the first book, and I can gladly report that the second book gave me exactly what I had already loved about the first instalment. It is very clear that the author took a great deal of time to get her story right. She presents an engaging narrative while telling the story of Nicola and Bella, who were very different yet united and similar in many ways. They were victims of their circumstances, and especially the men around them did not always come across as making the best decisions. This highlighted for me just how cruel life could be during that period, and it certainly does not make me any more of a fan of the church than I already am.I can only applaud the author for another amazing book, and it is well worth reading the notes at the end to learn more about the characters and the historical foundation on which the story is based.
📚 What would you do if you are suddenly granted th 📚 What would you do if you are suddenly granted three wishes? And why does it feel more like a therapist session?🌙 Recension: The Problem with Wishes by Hazel Calder📚 Genre: Magical Realism, Romance📅 Release Date: August 3, 2026📱 Read as: Kindle📗 available in various formats – included in Kindle Unlimited💸 I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.🗣️ Language: English📆 Pages: 246⭐️ 4/5Review:I did not expect to enjoy this one as much as I did, and I’m very happy about that.Scarlett is a character I liked instantly. She’s been with her company and doing her job for 10 years. When a promotion becomes available, she is hopeful, but her dreams are crushed when it goes to someone else. As a consolation prize, she is given a campaign, which comes with an unexpected surprise: a real-life genie who offers three wishes. Is this a completely new concept? No. Does it come with a very unique and entertaining twist? Absolutely. The disclaimer for the wishes alone made me chuckle. When Sahir made it clear what could not happen, it showed that someone must have tried all of these things before, and that they had gone horribly wrong. Better safe than sorry 🙂The interactions between the two of them were so much fun, and it felt more like a therapy session where a motivational friend was trying to convince her that she could do whatever she wanted if she started believing in herself. Him supporting her every step of the way and doing everything he could to make her journey just a little bit easier was so kind and caring that I wished I had someone like this in my life.It was a very entertaining read, and with it being on the shorter side, I finished it in one sitting. It’s a perfect book for making you feel better in the moment, and the banter was one of my highlights.I also applaud the absolutely stunning cover.
✨ HAPPY RELEASE DAY ✨ Can I interest you in a lit ✨ HAPPY RELEASE DAY ✨Can I interest you in a little bit of chaos (ok... a lot), a murder mystery and a main character who is a force to reckon with?🌙 Recension: It Runs in the Family (Iris Gardner Mystery #1) by Denise Grover Swank📚 Genre: Mystery, Fiction, Thriller📅 Release Date: September 29, 2026👤 Narrator: Piper Goodeve📗 available in various formats – included in Kindle Unlimited📱 Read as: Audiobook💸 I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.🗣️ Language: English📆 Pages / Listening Length: 12h 10min⭐️ 4/5Review:If you like your books a little over the top, with characters who take themselves very seriously, a bizarre family dynamic, and everyone deeply involved in everyone else’s business, this one is for you. Add a touch of the supernatural, a few dead people, and a handsome stranger. Not sure what that means? Neither was I, but I loved listening to it as an audiobook, which brought the madness of the story to life brilliantly.Iris has had visions all her life, but they rarely reveal much. Since some family members are a little too eager to profit from her abilities, she has stopped trying to force them. When she suddenly sees a vision of her own death, however, it is impossible to ignore. With her cousin involved, she becomes determined to change what she has seen. The family dynamic was unlike anything I expected. They love and hate each other in equal measure, wrapped up in a charming eccentricity. They can be blunt, honest, and hurtful, yet somehow always show up when it matters, or avoid each other entirely. Their loyalties seem to shift by the minute. I completely embraced it. Was it cliché at times? Absolutely. When Iris meets a handsome stranger who is clearly hiding things, but whom she trusts anyway, the story evolves into a murder mystery. Together they try to uncover the truth and prevent Iris's vision from becoming reality. It's a unique and wonderfully odd experience, and I enjoyed every minute. It will not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was certainly mine. If you accept it for what it is and avoid taking it too seriously, you'll have a great time with it.
