Review:
Consider me being late to the party 🙂 I got the book when it was originally released and finally got around to reading it.
We get three different POVs of our main characters, with one being the main driver of the story and influencing the remaining two. It is a story of different generations, coming with different expectations for woman in society.
Being different must be hidden and woman are seen as a vessel, which does not resonate well María. When offered the possibility to change the situation she is in and take charge, she takes it. She is willing to suffer first to reach her goals. She is not willing to accept the status quo though and along the way, she makes decisions, that will hurt others and starts losing pieces of herself.
The story follows these three women through different time periods, that end up connected in a tragic way. Three woman that had their own share of pain to endure in life and have more in common, then we originally thought. It is a story of love, sadness and hope.
It is not your typical love story.
I enjoyed following along the events and felt a bid sad for each of them at the end.
