Synopsis:

Azreal
Fuck… I need to do something I have never done before. Pray and pray that I will not give in to her wicked spell. She is made straight from the devil himself. Made to be a temptation you cannot fight. And she will cause you to sin for a simple little taste of her sweet nectar, she has me feeling things I have never felt before. I will not give in: I hate her and everything she is.

Bella
My mom is dead and now my sister and I are on the run, hiding in the shadows. My life has been turned upside down after having met Azrael. He helped me escape now I’m in his debt. And he will not let me leave until I hold up my end of the bargain. God. I hate him… or at least that’s what I keep telling myself.

Review:

This book falls into the dark romance genre (adding witches and vampires into the mix), and while it delivers intensity in certain parts, it didn’t completely win me over. The FMC must deal with a situation (twice), which felt repetitive, and I would have preferred if the outcome (that I did not particularly enjoy) wasn’t glossed over so quickly. The mate story arc seemed overused and, in my opinion, wasn’t necessary here.

On the positive side, I really enjoyed many of the side characters, especially the sisterly bond, which added warmth to the otherwise heavy tone. The writing style makes it easy to read, and I found the first part much stronger than the second. Overall, I liked the book but didn’t love it. Readers who enjoy this trope, dark romance, and very physical interactions between the MMC and FMC might appreciate it more than I did. Personally, I probably won’t continue the series.
