Synopsis:
A mapless island. A crew lost. A girl who doesn’t belong—yet may be the key.
Linnea has always felt like a footnote in a world written by magic. While students at the magical academy where she worked cast spells with ease, Linnea failed to even spark a flame. Tired of being the outsider, she joined the crew of the Tiderunner, a sleek elven trading ship that sails the open sea and doesn’t ask questions about who you are, only whether you can tie a knot and hold your ground in a storm.
But on one seemingly routine voyage, the sea turns against them. An unseen force seizes the ship, drawing it to a lush, uncharted island that shouldn’t exist. Magic floods the air, reacting violently with the elven crew. Only Linnea, untouched by magic, remains unaffected.
Now stranded, Linnea and a small group of survivors must venture into the heart of the island, where something ancient waits beneath the ground. It calls to the magic-born. It hungers for power. And it has already begun its awakening.
In a place where magic warps the very world and danger whispers from every tide pool, Linnea must confront what it truly means to be powerless, and whether that might be her greatest strength of all.

Review:
We join the crew at sea, a diverse company of magical beings and a single human woman, whose lack of magic has marked her since childhood. From the outset, their camaraderie and hard earned trust are evident, a testament to shared trials and mutual reliance.
As they sail toward their next destination, an inexplicable pull is noticed by some of the crew, growing stronger with each passing day. The force becomes irresistible, drawing them to an island absent from any known map. When their ship sustains damage, necessity compels them to uncover the origin of the pull, leading them into an unforeseen adventure.
Though brief, the tale offers enough intrigue to hold attention, and I relished the chance to delve deeper into these characters.
