Review:
Elliot loves his daughter more than anything else in the world. When Baylor’s mother walked out on both of them, it changed his life drastically.
When Emelia shows up in town, not only is he very sceptical about her representing a development firm and its goals, but having her constantly around him is not making it any easier to keep focused on what is important.
I love me a good old grumpy man 🙂 I think we can all agree that if a development firm suddenly shows up in a small town, it rarely means anything good. The town being overall hesitant initially was realistic. With her being the face of the firm, Emelia didn’t have an easy job convincing everyone that her company had a different approach.
Elliot had to overcome his initial shock of not being able to avoid her very quickly, especially with his daughter taking an instant liking to Emelia. The more time the two spent together, the more it became obvious that they enjoyed each other’s company, and I was along for the ride.
This had all the elements I usually enjoy in a small-town romance, and I am looking forward to seeing how the journey continues in the other books in the series. It made me feel good, and I enjoyed spending time with all the characters.
