Review Snacks, Schedules, and Everyone's a Suspect by Kristin Elizabeth
Synopsis:

In a town where the carline is the social hub, everyone knows everyone. Or at least, they think they do.When a parent is found dead and another disappears, Maddie Carter finds herself pulled into a mystery she never meant to solve. Between school drop-offs, therapy appointments, and daily chaos, she begins to notice what others miss. And the more she looks… The less anything makes sense.

Review:

We meet Maddie. Her life is very structured and she comes across as very organised and, please, don’t interrupt her (because she is barely hanging on). Her day usually starts with the school drop-off in the morning, which is the ideal place to get to know our main players. Everyone knows everyone, and you notice things, especially when something out of the ordinary happens. This is when speculation and rumours start, and Maddie and her friend Tara want to find out what happened.
I think that if you are a mother and used to the daily interactions with other parents, doing the same things over and over and meeting everyone at the same places again and again, you will resonate even more with the situation. Being overly curious and suddenly becoming investigators is what feels a bit cliché, but also weirdly comforting. At least to me. Even if the concept itself wasn’t completely new, it came with a fresh spin, and I enjoyed it for what it was.

This was such a lovely book to read. It made me feel good, had me shaking my head a few times, but also left me feeling far more invested than I should have been. And this is exactly how I wanted to feel afterwards: full of emotions. 🙂
