Review: Even Cupids Love by E.V. Sauvage

Synopsis:

This version of Even Cupids Love is the extended version and has Maëlle, the heroine in a situation where she doesn’t need to choose between the male characters.

Review:

Maëlle is still dealing with the aftermath of previous events and prefers staying by herself rather than interacting with lots of people. When her friend convinces her to attend a party, she starts to enjoy herself and meets a few handsome shifters who instantly grab her attention. When she finds herself in a situation where she has to live in close proximity to the three of them, it leads to plenty of tension and physical attraction.
Maëlle doesn’t know if she’s ready to fall in love again after the trauma she has endured, but she cannot resist them, especially when they show up for her and she starts to feel safe again.

Oh my, this one was steamy, and I was here for it. Each of the shifters brought something different to the table, and their different personalities, strengths, and weaknesses resonated with different parts of her. I appreciated that she didn’t have to choose and that they were all on board with it.
I enjoyed meeting some of the characters from the previous books again and seeing how everyone worked together, especially the women, who came across as the strong individuals they are.
Were some things a tad over the top? Yes, but I glossed over them and enjoyed the book for what it was, which was a lot of fun.

Can this one be read as a standalone? Yes, but you’ll miss out on the events that happened previously and on seeing many of the characters’ journeys along the way. Your experience will be much richer if you have the complete picture. I started the series recently, and it helped a lot to have everything fresh in my mind when starting this installment.
Also, compared to the previous books, this one had a significantly higher spice level, which is usually not my cup of tea, but it worked here. So much so that it made the overall story even more fun and entertaining. 🙂
