Review Untamed by Janice Whiteaker
Synopsis:

I’ve made a lot of bad decisions in my life.
Showing up on Tucker Bradshaw’s doorstep claiming we share a daughter is not one of them.
The youngest Bradshaw brother’s reputation is well known in Willow Bend and I plan to use it against him.
I thought he’d simply throw money at the problem, hoping to make us go away.
But Tucker doesn’t see my daughter and me as a problem.
He sees us as a solution.
So, instead of getting to take the money and run, I find myself being moved into his mansion. Driving one of his cars. Spending time with his family.
But I draw the line at sleeping in his bed. That’s never going to happen.
Except Tucker isn’t at all the man I expected him to be. He’s funny and kind. Selfless and humble.
When he reads my daughter bedtime stories, my resolve forms a crack.
When he builds her a princess bed, complete with a tower, that crack widens.
And when he pulls me close one night, telling me what a good mother I am, it crumbles completely.
And that’s a problem.
Because while Tucker’s presence is keeping my daughter and me safe, mine is putting him in danger.

Review:

When a stranger shows up at his doorstep, telling him that her child is his, Tucker immediately knows that something strange is going on. Shocked by his response, she runs away, with him showing up at her doorstep shortly after. Seeing the circumstances and how Ruth is struggling makes him realise that there is a way for both of them to benefit from helping each other.

After having read the previous book in the series, I was looking forward to returning to the brothers and the tight family bond they share. It comes across very well that looking out for each other and helping those in need (especially those lovely women with troubled pasts 🙂 ) is the main driver of the story (again).
Initially, Ruth and Tucker see each other as a means to an end, but it becomes clear early on that them living together would come with a lot more complications than they had bargained for, and I was fully on board with that. Their interactions and chemistry were undeniable and very enjoyable to witness 🙂
Ruth fit right in with the family, and I was rooting for her to become a permanent member early on 🙂
I also appreciated that the events of the prior book were still lingering, waiting to be resolved.
This was another winner for me, and I enjoyed every minute of it. And I definitely would not have stayed that calm with everything Birdie did in the house 🙂
