Audiobook: In the Blood by Jack Carr

This one is the 5th one in the *The Terminal List* series. I’ve been listening to them in Audiobook form and really appreciated the Narrator Ray Porter. This is a series where you must start from the beginning. For each of the prior ones you can find the corresponding Audiobook Reviews here:

Synopsis:

A woman boards a plane in the African country of Burkina Faso having just completed a targeted assassination for the state of Israel. Two minutes later, her plane is blown out of the sky.

Over 6,000 miles away, former Navy SEAL James Reece watches the names and pictures of the victims on cable news. One face triggers a distant memory of a Mossad operative attached to the CIA years earlier in Iraq—a woman with ties to the intelligence services of two nations… a woman Reece thought he would never see again.

Review:

I’m always impressed by the work and effort Jack Carr is putting into each book in the series to make as realistic as possible, while still make it interesting enough for someone like me (that is not too informed about the politics and military topics) and understand what is going on. How every little piece is fitting together is amazing. It really pays off for me to stay consistent with the series and not wait too long before moving on to the next one.

While Reese comes along like this perfect assassin and basically expert in everything, we always see the soft side of him, that hesitates and wants to avoid killing where possible. He is ready to start a new chapter in his life but wants to follow up on loose ends and close this chapter first.

The ending was a massive cliff-hanger, and I cannot wait to know where the next one in the series will take us. I’m so glad I started the series this year. It feels like I’m thrown into a fast-paced action / thriller movie every time. Absolutely worth the time. I cannot recommend this series enough.
