Review:
The Feywind Saga was originally released with the first book in 2018. It is a successful series in German that got only recently translated to English. I have never heard about this one before, so I gave it a try and immediately noticed, that the writing stile does not completely resonate with me. It feels a bit dated and clunky here and there.
The story as such was interesting and had potential. Feywind coming home to a place, that is no longer what he remembers from the past. Magic is not welcomed, and the inquisition uses it an excuse to murder everyone even remotely connected to this. When he learns about his father death, he meets a group of strangers and together they must prevent evil to take over.
I was missing depth for some characters and the storyline remained on a surface level most of the time. It didn’t resonate with me overall (compared to other books of this genre I read recently) and it’s not a series I’ll continue.
