Synopsis:
Is your husband so horrible that you’d ask your best friend to kill him?
I know my husband has cheated on me. But I can’t believe what I just found in the bedside drawer. Are my children safe… ?
The first time he did it was on our wedding anniversary. He broke down in tears afterwards. That’s the thing about Simon. He’s always sorry… until the next time.
My husband is useless. He just loafs around the house all day and spends my money. But now I think he’s done something far worse.
We’ve descended on Penny’s stunning country home for a rare girls’ weekend.
As the cocktails flow, it turns out we’re all keeping secrets. Bloody hell, we sure can pick them.
We clink our glasses. “Here’s to our horrible husbands. May they get what’s coming to them.”
Good friends will die for you. But only best friends will kill for you.

Review:
We follow three women who have each faced significant trauma in their lives. Given their long‑standing friendship, you would expect certain truths to have surfaced over the years, yet it becomes clear that each of them has kept far more to herself than she ever shared. Their husbands certainly wouldn’t qualify for husband of the year in any universe.
After not seeing each other in person for quite some time, the women finally reunite, and the emotional barriers fall quickly. They open up, share their painful experiences, and decide to make a pact to free themselves from their awful husbands. What follows is at times disturbing, at times hilarious, and often surprisingly satisfying.
Where the story faltered for me was the ending. The setup was strong, the plan felt solid, and I was excited to see how these three women would come out on top. But the conclusion didn’t land the way I hoped. It felt less impactful, perhaps because I had imagined a different outcome than the one the author chose. It remained entertaining, but the final stretch fell a bit flat for me.
Still, this book sounded like a perfect fit for audio, and it delivered on that front. Having multiple narrators bring each FMC to life is something I truly appreciate. It makes it so much easier to distinguish their voices and stay immersed in the story.
