Synopsis:
Divine bureaucracy. Queer grief. One Seer just trying not to explode on company time.
The gods didn’t retire. They unionised.
Meet Juno seer-class, divine-adjacent, and one decision away from a disciplinary on any given Tuesday. Welcome to the Company, an oh-so-British bureaucracy that files incident reports on eldritch hazards, negotiates with divine egos, and keeps the magic-adjacent digital paperwork.
Across darkly funny tales, Juno stumbles through:
- a concept that shouldn’t exist (and knows exactly how to embarrass you),
- a petty feud with Death over a sandwich (it escalates),
- a “shortcut” through the wrong plane in a Company car (do not whisper to the dashboard), and
- a surprise “parenting day” with Nature herself (flowers are spying now; please act normal)
Sharp, deadpan, and a little feral, this collection blends urban fantasy, mythic fallout, and office satire. Perfect for fans of Good Omens, Rivers of London, and “what if The Umbrella Academy had to fill out risk assessments.”
British wit, queer vibes, eldritch admin, found-family edges, a haunted vending machine, and one very tired HR (sorry—Divine Resources).

Review:
I was looking for something entertaining, that makes me lough and is not your average storytelling. That’s exactly what I got here.
Have you ever seen signs that told you to stay away? Have people told you to not do certain things because you’ll get hurt? Do you apply common sense for avoiding certain situations that sound dangerous to begin with?
Meet Juno, who always does exactly the opposite of what she is told to do, and she does not care one bit. The more pushback she is getting to NOT do something, the more she considers something a personal challenge to mess with everyone around her ignoring the consequences. Sometimes the outcome made me lough and sometimes it sounded like a teenager rebelling around everything looking for attention.
A bit confusing here and there but entertaining non the less. I enjoyed a lot of the side characters, that had to suffer through all those situations. And let’s not forget about the poor appliances getting tortured also. I would never cause my coffee machine long time trauma 🙂
It’s my kind of humour and I look forward to seeing more from the author.
