Synopsis:
Managing a restaurant was hard. Managing a magical inn is impossible. But the risotto is worth it.
June is done with stress. She’s done with shouting, she’s done with debt, and she is definitely done with surprises.
Naturally, the universe hands her the keys to the Thistle & Spoon: an inn sitting on the chaotic edge of the Fae realm.
Now, instead of worrying about food critics, June is worrying about a Kobold selling “emotional spices” in the backyard. She’s dealing with a Health and Safety inspector who is asking too many questions about the “iron filings” (magic dampeners) in the salad. And then there’s Alder—the inn’s terrifyingly attractive guardian—who looks at her like she’s a problem he’d very much like to solve.
But when a baby dragon crash-lands in the garden and the Fae Queen threatens to close them down, June has to do the one thing she swore she’d never do again: cook with her heart.
Welcome to The Inn at the Edge of Magic. Please don’t feed the brownie.

Review:
This is a short one, so I was not expecting an intense plot and characters with a complex backstory.
We meet June, who is a chef and her life in Chicago is not making her happy. Inheriting the inn from her grandmother is surprising but she is willing to give it a try.
The quickly learns, that it is a safe heaven for not only humans and that the inn is exactly what she needed to be happy again.
I enjoyed the writing stile and if kitchen appliances have their own will, it always makes me smile. Did June accept the inn to be different a bit too quickly? Yes. Could I have done without the romantic part? Also yes.
This is another book that will give you an easy and short way to emerge in a different world and allow the characters to make you feel just a little bit better at the end.
