Review Root Cause A Collection of Stories on Community
Synopsis:

What does community mean to you?

A man helps his cousin’s wife escape her abusive marriage, a lonely cosmic entity finds kinship in space-faring humans, and a vigilante hunts down a target who might just be on the right side of history.

Eleven visionary short stories from award-winning authors are collected for the first time in an anthology-meditation on the value of community. Spanning multiple genres – literary, sci-fi, fantasy – but united in their thematic experimentation, these stories dive into the deep waters of understanding ourselves and our place in our community – and what that community means for our place in the world.

With inclusions from authors E.J. Runyon, Anne Goodwin, Howard Robinson, Dan Stride, EA Mylonas, Hugo Jackson, Alex Westmore, Craig Hallam, James Webster, Dorothy Winsor, David Wilkinson and Clare Stevens.

Review:

This is a collection of short stories. Some very short and some a bit longer. The topics are a mixture of various genres and some of them you will enjoy more than others.

Overall, a quick read and I skipped 2 (if I remember correctly). Two of them had me a bit teary eyed. The Grandma and Homeless story. To make me care in such a short amount of time shows, that if done right, you can do a lot within a few pages.

If you don’t want to commit to a full-length story or know someone that has a short attention span, give it a try. I enjoyed it for what it was.
